At Sushruta Educations LLP, your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect through the Sushruta LGS mobile and desktop application ("App") and website, how it's used, who it is shared with, and the steps we take to ensure your personal data remains secure.
We collect the following categories of information:
Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password provided during registration.
Study & Performance Data: MCQ answers, scores, accuracy rates, mock exam results, topic-wise performance, time spent per question, error patterns, study streaks, and daily usage data collected through your use of the App.
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifier, and platform (iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows) for device binding and compatibility.
Payment Information: Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay (for web and Android) and Apple In-App Purchase (for iOS). We do not store your credit card or bank details. We receive only transaction confirmation, order ID, and subscription status.
Automated Data: IP address, login timestamps, app usage analytics, crash logs, and performance diagnostics collected automatically to improve service quality.
User-Generated Content: Personal notes, highlights, annotations on study materials, bookmarks, and custom study modules created within the App.
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
Service Delivery: To provide MCQ practice, mock exams, notes, video lectures, flashcards, and all features within the App.
AI-Powered Features: To generate personalized study plans (da Vinci Brain), provide AI tutoring (Cortex AI), create AI-generated flashcards, perform mock exam analysis, and deliver personalized recommendations based on your study data. See Section 3 for full details.
Progress Tracking: To track your study progress, maintain streak counts, compute topic mastery scores, and generate predicted scores and rank estimates.
Error Tracking: To automatically record wrong answers in the Error Book and schedule spaced review sessions.
Leaderboards: To display your scores on global leaderboards, with your explicit consent. See Section 4 for details.
Customer Support: To assist you and provide technical support.
Communication: To send study reminders, mock exam notifications, order updates, and service-related notices. You can configure notification preferences in the App settings.
Analytics: To analyse aggregated statistical data to improve App features and user experience.
Legal Compliance: To adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
The Sushruta LGS App includes AI-powered features that process your study data to provide personalized recommendations and tutoring. When you use these features, certain data is shared with third-party AI service providers.
What data is shared with AI providers:
Your MCQ scores and topic-wise accuracy
Mock exam results, scores, and weak topic areas
Error patterns and study progress data
Your questions and conversation context when using AI Tutor
Question content being viewed (for contextual AI assistance)
What data is NOT shared with AI providers:
Your name, email address, or phone number
Your payment or financial information
Your device identifiers or IP address
Who the data is shared with:
Anthropic (Claude AI): For AI tutoring (Cortex AI), study plan generation, and mock exam analysis. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
OpenAI: For flashcard generation and MCQ formatting. OpenAI's privacy policy is available at openai.com/privacy.
How AI data is protected:
Data is transmitted via encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
AI providers process your data only to generate responses and do not use it to train their models.
No personal identifiers are included in AI requests.
You will be asked for explicit consent before using AI features for the first time. You may use the App without enabling AI features.
The App includes global leaderboards that display mock exam scores, challenge mode results, and study streaks. Participation in leaderboards is optional and requires your explicit consent.
When you opt in, your display name and scores are visible to other users of the App.
You can opt out of leaderboards at any time from Settings.
You may choose to display your real name or an anonymous identifier.
If you do not opt in, your scores are not shared with other users.
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on DigitalOcean with the following protections:
Encryption at rest: Sensitive data stored on your device is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
Secure credential storage: Authentication tokens are stored in iOS Keychain, Android Keystore, or platform-equivalent secure storage.
Device binding: Your account is limited to a maximum number of active devices to prevent unauthorized access.
Content protection: Downloaded study materials (PDFs, videos) are encrypted on your device and personalized with digital watermarks.
Payment processing is handled by trusted third-party providers:
Razorpay (for web and Android): PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not store your card details.
Apple In-App Purchase (for iOS): Managed entirely by Apple. We receive only transaction receipts.
Google Play Billing (for Android subscriptions via Play Store): Managed by Google. We receive only purchase tokens.
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data as described in their respective privacy policies:
Firebase (Google): Analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and remote configuration. Firebase Privacy
Bunny CDN: Content delivery for videos, images, and downloadable materials.
ZeptoMail (Zoho): Transactional email delivery (OTP, order confirmations).
Interakt: WhatsApp communication and notifications.
Shiprocket: Order tracking and shipment management for hardcopy notes.
The App allows you to download content for offline use. Downloaded content is stored on your device in encrypted form. Study progress made while offline is stored locally and synced to our servers when an internet connection is available. You can manage and delete downloaded content from Settings.
We may send you notifications for study reminders, mock exam alerts, order updates, and weekly summaries. You can customize or disable notifications from the App's Settings. You can also configure quiet hours to prevent notifications during specific times.
The App is designed for medical postgraduate students and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes.
You hold the following rights concerning your personal data:
Access: You can request details of personal information we hold about you.
Correction: If any data we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request corrections.
Deletion: You can request your personal data be deleted from our systems.
Data Export: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Opt-out: You can opt out of leaderboards, AI features, and non-essential notifications at any time from Settings.
Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for AI data processing at any time. This will disable AI-powered features but will not affect other App functionality.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. When significant changes are made, we will notify you through the App or via email. We recommend reviewing this policy occasionally to remain informed about how we protect your personal data.
